EVERYTHING
DIRTY

THE PREMISE
Thrown into the wild, I learn to appreciate the outdoors through a treasured community garden.
THE STORY
Out in the Outdoors
In my sophomore year of college, I was hired to run the 1.5 acre local community garden, Princeton Garden Project, for a summer. I was not an outdoorsy person at all - so I spent a week panicking and reading a book on gardening before taking my stab at it.
I killed the radishes within a week.
Building Garden Community
With the help of a co-garden manager arriving later, and great volunteers, we hosted scavenger hunts, movie nights, and painting - creating an invaluable community space.
After that summer, I stayed on as a manager with the garden for two more years. The garden is still thriving, and it is active on Instagram @princetongardenproject, or https://princetongardenproject.wordpress.com.

Further into the Wild...
I was eventually trained to be Wilderness First Aid and CPR Certified through Princeton's Outdoor Action program - which training included a week-long trip to Florida in the wilderness.
I've continued to embrace the outdoors through nice hikes, mountains, and more - feeling connected to corporeality in an increasingly digital world is grounding.
